The UK Irrigation Association is run by an Executive Council (EC), comprising the Officers of the Association together with selected co-opted members. Members of the EC are chosen to reflect the broad range of interests of the Association in agricultural and environmental water management, including agriculture, horticulture, sportsturf, landscape and amenity, water regulation, consultancy, equipment supply, and research. Bill is well known to most people in the irrigation world for his work as a mechanisation consultant, initially with ADAS and more recently as an independent. He regularly provides training courses for farm managers and operators on a range of irrigation equipment.
Andy is Corporate Accounts Manager responsible for sportsturf irrigation. He is ex-Chairman of the UKIA.
James is the founding Director of Envireau Water, with specific interests in water resources and environmental hydrogeology; water regulation; development and research into renewable energy and ground source heating.
Paul is the NFU's National Water Resources Advisor responsible for NFU based in Newmarket. He deals with a range of issues including agricultural water resources, flood risk management, water quality, and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
Lindsay is an independent farming and food consultant specialising in business planning and management. He has over 30 years experience of practical farming in the eastern counties and for 17 years led the in-hand farming operation of Elveden Estate (Suffolk).
Anthony is Managing Director of Wroot Water, an irrigation equipment supplier in S Yorkshire specialising in trickle and sprinkler irrigation. Anthony is a Nuffield Scholar and actively involved in applied field irrigation research.
Tim farms in Norfolk using centre pivots and rainguns to grow a range of crops including potatoes, carrots, parsnips, asparagus, sugar beet and cereals. He is also Chairman of the River Thet Catchment Water Resources Group.
Jerry is a Principal Research Fellow in the Centre for Water Science. His research interests include crop modeling, agricultural water management, water efficiency, and climate change impacts assessments in agricultural production.
David is Managing Director of G&D Matthews Ltd, based in West Pinchbeck (Lincs) and specialises in growing premium potatoes for the pre-pack market using trickle irrigation.
Tim is a director of L F Papworth Ltd a contract farming company in Norfolk, Chairman of the NFU Potato Forum and vice chairman of the NFU Horticulture and potatoes Board, a committee member of BAWAG and Potato council Marketing Strategy committee Board member.
Keith is a Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Water Science and involved in research on water resources for irrigation, the impacts of socio-economic and climate change on water demand and resource availability, and adaptation to global change. He is an ex-Chairman of the UKIA.
